The Sauk County Agricultural Society Inc. Annual Meeting Notice:
The Sauk County Agricultural Society, Inc. conducted its annual meeting on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, in Baraboo, at Thunderbird Lanes, at 7pm.
The Sauk County Agricultural Society, owners of the Sauk County Fairgrounds as well as the Sauk County Fair, is a member organization. The organization, a 501(c)5 (special agricultural non-profit) is made up of members who own and operate the Sauk County Fair and Fairgrounds. The organization originated in 1854 as a stock organization, but due to IRS rules, in 2008 became a membership organization. Stock members received lifetime memberships. Currently, both lifetime memberships and yearly memberships are available. The yearly membership is $20.00 per year; the lifetime membership is $200.00. Members may vote, serve on the board and get an annual parking pass each fair. The society’s board is made up of officers, President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Marshall. The board also has six directors. The officers are on a two-year rotation. The six directors are on three-year rotations. The board as a whole meet monthly or more if needed. Each board member is expected to serve on several committees also. The board is expected to help with any needed upkeep of the grounds particularly prior to fair and to participate fully in the yearly fair. On average each board member can expect to participate fair week from between 80 to 110 hours. The usage of the talents and skills of the board help keep the costs of running the fair down. Board members truly enjoy the fair and that love of the fair encourages them to be fully involved and willing to give so much to the organization’s success.
Sponsors, Donators, Vendors, Volunteers, Exhibitors and Family– The fairs’ success is dependent on many other factors. Most importantly our sponsors, donators, volunteers, exhibitors and family. Our sponsors and donators provide much needed funding for the fair’s programing. Our vendors provide revenue to the fair and provide benefits to our visitors. Our volunteers and exhibitors put a great amount of time and energy into making the grounds and programs run. Board member families didn’t necessarily sign up but embrace the volunteer opportunities to make the fair its best. We all work together to present an exceptional annual fair promoting education and community while celebrating Sauk County’s agricultural heritage and diversity in an environment where all are welcome.
The next annual meeting will take place on Tuesday, December 8, 2026
7 pm at Thunderbird Lanes & Banquet Facility, 1117 8th St. Baraboo
